Germany expected to ban online gaming
December 31st, 2007 by admin
With the American UIGEA still firmly in place and Norway in hot pursuit, it seems that Germany now wants to get a piece of the action and ban online gaming.
It is reported that changes to the laws surrounding online gaming are set to change on 1 January, with all sixteen legislators having voted for a change in gambling laws.
Although the laws will not be aimed at gambling companies directly, the German government is expected to ask payment companies to prevent deposits to online gaming companies in a mirror of the current US legislation.
Advertising is also expected to be hit, with limited availability on television and the internet, with illegal gambling sites being blocked online by servers.
